Our experience with Mountain Ridge Wines
Our daughter and her fiancé (now husband) chose Mountain Ridge Wines for both their wedding ceremony and their reception. Above all else they wanted a relaxed & casual wedding atmosphere and for them Mountain Ridge Wines “just felt right”.
They’d looked at very few other venues, no great investigation at all, “it just felt right”. So when the two families went to check-out the venue we were a bit apprehensive given the scant details ‘the kids’ had provided. We wondered if we’d get the “just felt right” feeling too.
When we arrived though we could soon see why they were happy and we too were captivated by the simplicity of the venue and its surrounds. Also captivating was the sincerity and friendliness of proprietors, Monique & Barry. We loved their beautiful wines and beers too!
They of course provided us with all the information we needed, they were flexible, gave us options and were extremely helpful with whatever we raised.Just as importantly to us though was what they didn’t give us – sales pressure! In fact quite the opposite as they recognise that the venue is not for everyone. Clearly they didn’t want people or functions that were a mis-match with the venue as this could create customer dissatisfaction and unfairly tarnish their reputation.
Once we had committed to the venue, nothing changed; friendliness, flexibility and helpfulness aplenty continued. So our first meeting sense of sincerity proved to be ‘spot on’.
The wedding day arrived in due course. The Bride & Groom, both families and (from the feedback we received) every guest, thoroughly enjoyed the event. Monique, Barry and their staff contributed in no small way to the success of the day. They had also just quietly resolved our couple of self-inflicted hiccups along the way. While we are most happy to recommend Mountain Ridge Wines as a venue for any type of function, perhaps the best recommendation came from our Bride & Groom who, when they returned from their honeymoon and couldn’t stop talking about their wedding day, said they’d love to have their wedding day all over again, just as it was!
So a sincere ‘thank you’ to Monique & Barry for their part in having ‘the kids’ feel this way and for sharing their beautiful part of the world with our families and guests.
But wait, there’s more! We get the added bonus of being able to go to their regular music evenings and re-immerse ourselves in the great Mountain Ridge Wines atmosphere all over again. How good is that!
